I finally beat my #laptop into submission. I restored #Windows three times to do a clean installation until I figured out how to eliminate #OneDrive forever. Why do I have a 2-terabyte drive locally on a laptop to just have you force me to store my files on your cloud storage?

There also used to be an easy way to move everything over, but that facility is gone now, I just did a file backup and restore and that handled it nicely.

Now that I am seriously planning to move away from Windows I am starting a checklist on what is absolutely essential for me to work on Linux. Would anyone have a good recommendation to a good replacement for - sigh - Animate CC?

It need to be as close as possible - animation tool with a vectorial approach but that can also import bitmaps and work with those as well. Oh yeah, it also definitely need to be able to export videos and stills.

I had to set up a Windows Surface laptop for my dad and the hardware is nice but Windows is such an unbelievable pain in the ass compared to MacOS. Why are there 2 different versions of Outlook? Why does the new one not have any options, such as importing or exporting calendars? Why does the Windows firewall block access to wireless printers? The list goes on and on. #windows #macos #apple #microsoft

I know so many techies say use Linux, but I've used Windows for decades and I've got a ton of things associated with it. I'm not going to change now. But #Windows has become a real pain in the butt to move from one PC to another. I'm close to just returning my new laptop and keeping my creaky older PC and coping with the intermittent issues.
