For all who like to see my #scrollBook project in progress, I start a thread for new photos.
The idea: Having art small enough for a handbag or hanged on a wall. 'Writing' a #book that can't get copied by AI or people - but can be inspiring for others.
Materials: A vintage wooden bobbin, tea-dyed coton flannel, #teaBags, #sareeSilk scraps, #lace, #embroidery, glass rocailles.

Part of my scrollbook with a needle and yellowish green thread. On a background of bright purple flannel a collage of small white lace, a square of a used teabag and scraps of saree silk. The spuares and rectangles are laid in a collage composition and get fixed with wild, wobbly stitches. One silk scrap in rosé has a beautiful dark lilac and red ornamental print.

I almost bought some gorgeous and huge Ukrainian jewellery made from woven rocailles, which I don't have the opportunity to wear. So I went back to hoarding colours at our Festival of Wool and Yarn. Again, I couldn't resist the vintage bobbins. More in the AltText.
Are there more people who hoard colours against grey realities?

Saris silk wrapped in a strand, colour spectrum between pink, yellow, beige and light blue.
I looked for embroidered and originally coloured sari rests in vain, the trader almost only has overdyed silk: "people no longer want it too colourful."

Variegated embroidery thread in colour collections like yellow, rose, blue, brown-green etc. It is pure hoarding, at 1 E the strand I had to take 10, I couldn't stop at 7 or 9! I still don't know what I will make with it but I love variegated yarn for collages or stitching 3D moss.

It was great that the people from Auvergne were there again to supply me with ancient wooden bobbins: here are some in all sizes. One of the bobbins is wrapped with a self-coloured fabric ribbon. I use it to make scroll books from fabric or paper art. Hard to explain. My colleagues: Oh you embroider Thoras!

The beginning of a scroll book: The fabric is brightly purple (dyed with fruit tea). I placed different scraps from saree silk and lace on it and will fix them with "wild", intuitive embroidery like a collage. Colour spectrum: purple, rose, and yellowish green. These scroll books will be fixed on the wooden spools. They can be read like a Torah or hanged open on a wall.
