Four flies for #FridayFlyDay which I photographed in the back yard yesterday.

Genus Zacompsia (I think)--a picture-winged fly in the family Ulidiida. Neotephritis finalis
(Sunflower Seed Maggot fly)--a species of fruit fly in the family Tephritidae. Genus Elachiptera--genus of frit flies in the family Chloropidae (larvae feed on grasses). Cylindromyia intermedia--a species of bristle fly in the family Tachinidae.

Zacompsia, a picture-winged fly. This one is oriented side view, grasping a leaf. It's rust-red in color and elongated.
This fly (Neotephritis finalis) is positioned head on, so we see it's face in detail. They eyes are iridescent (greenish/reddish)
Genus elachiptera. Side view of a tiny fly with notable antennae--each with two prongs. Otherwise, it's just a little, nondescript dark-gray fly.
Cylindromyia intermedia. Wings outspread, head down, this fly is black with reddish sides to the abdomen. The long bristles on it's abdomen are where it's common names is derived--a bristle fly.

The weather’s getting warmer so that means the little critters are coming out. I geared up my XH 1 with the battery grip, flash, and diffuser and went Easter egg hunting for #insects and #arachnids I’m sorry Arachnophobes, they’re out in full swing now and I can’t pass up a shot. 😅

Macro photo of a tiny spider in a tiny web against a blurry background of plants. The spider couldn’t have been taller than 2mm.
I’m not 100% sure what type of spider this is but my guess is it’s a juvenile orb weaver or garden spider. It was busy making its web and had no time to spend worrying about me with my camera.
Same spider as picture number 2 busy making its web for the night in hopes of catching dinner.
