no

not voting has no blame in the minds of some on the #left

because their personal feeling about themselves is more important than mattering in the world

so voting for a #candidate they feel is impure is so terrible, they don't #vote, then the #right wins

that's #toxidealism in a nutshell:

people whose personal sense of their #ideological purity, how they feel about themselves, is more important than messy impure strategy to get effective change in the world

In the interviews, #JohnKelly expanded on his previously expressed concerns & stressed that voters, in his view, should consider fitness & #character when selecting a president, even more than a candidate’s stances on the issues.

“In many cases, I would agree w/some of [#Trump’s] policies,” he said, STRESSING that as a fmr MILITARY officer he was not endorsing any #candidate. “But again, it’s a very dangerous thing to have the wrong person elected…”

Hey hacker fam, I will see you next week at #VirusBulletin in #Dublin. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I'm going to be speaking about my experience as a political #candidate last year with my campaign being targeted for #phishing and #BEC, how I fought back, and what political candidates and campaigns can do to protect themselves.

I'll also be discussing some upcoming research on electioneering #deepfakes and #disinformation #campaigns. As you might know, I supported a Colorado bill (leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb24-11) signed into law this year that attempts to do something about this looming problem.

#Blanche is trying to suggest that the meeting that Trump & #MichaelCohen had in 2015 w/ #Pecker, of The #NationalEnquirer, when prosecutors say they hatched a plan to suppress damaging stories about #Trump & promote negative ones about his rivals, was SOP between a presidential #candidate & the #press. It was not.

Blanche suggests that bc Pecker’s relationship w/Trump, & their #CatchAndKill agreement, was not an #election #conspiracy bc it predated the campaign.

#Pecker said he didn't know what the meeting was about before he arrived. When he got there, #MichaelCohen & #Trump asked him what he & his magazines could do "to help the campaign.”

That quote goes directly to the argument that the #HushMoney payments were made to help Trump win.

In #Blanche’s opening, he said Trump's dealings w/Pecker were regular practice in #journalism.
But a #political #candidate flat-out asking a publisher "to help the campaign" is NOT NORMAL.

Instead of Taking #Trump Off the Ballot, #Democrats Should Run a Better #Candidate

The Colorado Supreme Court has ruled to remove Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 election ballot. The attempt will likely fail and backfire — but it's indicative of American liberalism

The Democrats can just run someone else with a more appealing platform. Someone who more people will vote for than vote for Donald Trump.

That is, at any rate, how democracies are supposed to work.
