Privacy is a human right that should be granted to everyone, no matter the reason. But for millions of people around the world, data privacy is also crucial for their physical safety. For people in extreme situations, privacy can literally mean life or death.

There is a growing sentiment that the US shouldn't be relied upon for the technologies that many people and businesses use every day.

While we prefer to focus on technical guarantees like strong end-to-end encryption over matters like jurisdiction, these issues still matter, and the United States certainly does not have a monopoly on the best technologies.

We've compiled a list of some of our favorite and highly recommended European privacy tools, to highlight how easy it can be to take your data back from American Big Tech companies: privacyguides.org/articles/202

As American Big Tech companies continue to flout EU regulations, and the US Government cuts off critical defense technology to Ukraine, there is a growing sentiment that the US shouldn't be relied upon for the technologies that many people and businesses use every day.

28 Days Later (& What a Week!)

This past week has been tremendous in terms of Fedi releases.

It began on Monday with the release of the Comfy Collaborations album by various artists which was eloquently reviewed by @inpc.

Then came two excellent single releases: Dancing and Kissing by Bitplanes (@bazkie) and Cities by @sknob.

The week was capped off perfectly with the launch of @meljoann’s latest album, Status, which included a well-attended live streamed launch party.

This super release week also marked the fourth week since NHAM launched as an online music platform for Fedi artists who distribute their music on Fair Platforms. We’ve now been live for 28 full days and astonishingly we’re averaging unique daily visitor numbers well in to four figures already!

It’s testament to the thriving and growing indie music scene in the Fedi and on the fair platforms.

A huge thank you to everyone involved and everyone supporting, listening, watching and reading!

I wrote a short description of how lisp is coded by writing lisp sequences (lists), and the low level dotted cons view of the lists.

I wrote a funny piece of lisp that outputs a lower triangular emacs orgmode matrix depiction of a lisp form.

Which leaves me wondering, does anyone "use" or otherwise think about (a . (b . NIL)) the dotted cons way of writing lists while programming?

There is a growing number of people who no longer feel safe in their own home or country. Whatever the reason, many people might not feel safe to browse certain topics online 🌐

If you're in this situation, the Tails live operating system from @torproject can help. Tails protects against censorship and surveillance, and it lets you use a computer without leaving any trace of your browsing history afterward.
