Important part of any building development under totalitarian socialism were "Culture centers", which were public places usually controlled and allocated by the party or general unions. The use varied but it mostly was about socially mandatory political rituals.
This one was rebuilt into pub.

When staying in Chodovská Huť we were able to take a ten minute drive across the boarder into Germany, we found the nearest little town and a cafe, none of us spoke the language but with the help of google translate we managed to order some hot drinks and pastries. It was really cool just being there, I can also confirm that the hot chocolate and pastry that I had were amazing
