The admin has already been blocked by 6 federal judges in courts across the country from removing #Venezuelan migrants accused of being gang members to #ElSalvador under a rarely invoked wartime statute. It has also created an uproar by wrongfully deporting a Maryland man, #KilmarAbregoGarcia, to El Salvador &…refusing to work to bring him back.

#KilmarAbregoGarcia’s case was both a human tragedy & an incipient #ConstitutionalCrisis. His Kafkaesque predicament is a stark illustration of what it means to be stripped of the #law’s protection, & thus a warning for us all.

But Abrego Garcia is not alone.

Judge #Xinis postponed discovery in the #KilmarAbregoGarcia case for 1 week until April 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM, w/agreement from both sides. The reason is unclear but it follows a sealed filing from the #Trump admin yesterday.

Sen #AmyKlobuchar said on CNN that #SCOTUS should hold #Trump admin ofcls in #contempt if they continue to ignore a court order to facilitate #KilmarAbregoGarcia’s return from #ElSalvador. Klobuchar said the court should appoint a special prosecutor, independent of Trump’s #DOJ, to uphold the rule of #law & charge ofcls who are responsible for Abrego Garcia’s wrongful #deportation, or have refused to facilitate his return. “We’re getting closer & closer to a #ConstitutionalCrisis,” she said.

Senator Chris #VanHollen, the Maryland Democrat who traveled to #ElSalvador last week & met with #KilmarAbregoGarcia, a man from his state who was wrongfully deported by the #Trump admin, said on CNN that Trump “is trying to change the subject” by claiming the man,, is a member of the MS-13 gang. He said Trump is “outright defying” #SCOTUS’ order to facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return.

It’s *possible* as some are saying that whoever altered the photo did so to explain the tattoos.

1. If that is the case, I doubt #Trump realized it.

2. MS-13 is notorious for boldly displaying the gang’s name in their tats. They don’t use code.

3. The neo-Nazi that came up w/this tattoo theory claims the cross & the skull are covering what used to be a 1 & a 3. That skull for sure was not a 3.

The plaintiffs are seeking an order temporarily blocking the removals, & suggested they're concerned their clients could face the same fate as the mistakenly deported #KilmarAbregoGarcia.

"If the individuals are removed before the Court can act & the putative class members are removed from the country, this Court would be permanently divested of jurisdiction under the government’s position that it need not return individuals, even those mistakenly erroneously removed," the filing said.

#Bukele, in a social media post, crowed that “Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture,’” was “now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!” But acc/to a person familiar w/the situation, a Bukele aide placed the 2 glasses w/ cherries & salted rims on the table in front of Sen #VanHollen & #KilmarAbregoGarcia in the middle of their meeting in an attempt to stage the photo.

The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals cites news articles about #Trump telling #Bukele that "homegrowns are next."
