Crater Lake Oregon A Deep Blue Wonder of Nature
Right in the heart of southern Oregon's Cascade Mountains, Crater Lake is a breathtaking natural marvel, known for its intense sapphire-blue waters, remarkable clarity, and dramatic geological history. Formed over 7,000 years ago by the collapse of the ancient Mount Mazama volcano.

A few photos from my most recent research trip - in the north of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
It was not a landscape through which you could quickly move, power walk over, run across, rush past.
But then again, it was not a landscape that you wanted to spend little time in. It invited -- nay, demanded, in a friendly, open fashion -- you to linger.
"Must you," it murmured, "always be in a hurry?"

Ranger Sarah makes the turn to stay on the Eastside Trail.
— at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park.
#SilentSunday the view from the hill.
This is the highest point to the East (well not quite, through that gate and up the hill is a magnificent view).
Next time, I'll make the effort as despite reservations, walking out this far was fine. 2 years since I could do that. Woohoo!
Doggo definitely enjoyed the evening.
There was just a touch of wind from the northern terminus to the Peter Iredale shipwreck

As I approached the summit earlier this week, the trail steepened to the point that “ladders” (stairs) were installed to help hikers. However, the ladders (see pic from a previous summer) were completely covered with #snow and #ice making for a challenge in the ascent/descent. After starting with microspikes, I then put on full crampons to get down safely. #FootpathFriday #hiking #winter
It's time to unplug and wander where the Wi-Fi doesn't reach. Reconnect with nature, explore the outdoors and learn how to find little peace.
Adventure is calling, will you answer?

Another day, another hike past a #waterfall! But today it was a smorgasbord of beautiful waterfalls on a trail appropriately named Falling Waters Trail (White #Mountains, #NewHampshire). I love this trail and have hiked (or snowshoed) on it in every season. #hiking #backpacking #winter
A day like no other day now dawns.
TODAY, I begin the 411 mile Oregon Coast Trail!

Winter Beauty Yosemite National Park Tunnel View
snowstorm swept through the valley, dressing the granite giants in a delicate veil of white. From Tunnel View, the world opened like a dream—El Capitan standing watchful to the left, Bridalveil Fall flowing like silver lace to the right, and Half Dome rising distant and proud, crowned in snow.

I am simply unable to resist the lone tree.
To me, it is a symbol of strength, independence, and stubbornness, representing a determination to grow and flourish despite so many factors being against it.
