One of my first projects was to print 'sleds' for batteries for my digital cameras. I'm one of those odd sorts that likes Pentax cameras, because I can use K mount lenses from as far back as the K1000. In any case I tried out <a href="https://ma.zcx.cc/tags/FreeCAD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeCAD</span></a>, and got something that worked, but I wouldn't call it all that useful. I did know enough to use TPU though, and I am doing so again.\</p>

Надизайнил в FreeCAD коробочку. </p><p>Осталось распечтаать и понять правильно ли я выбрал всякие зазоры чтобы в нее сложились доминошки, а крышка закрылась. Я же в первый раз и не очень понимаю тонкости дизайна под 3д печать.</p><p>Хотя мне кажется, что паз для крышки слишкоб глубокий - будет сложно надевать и снимать. </p><p>Но чо я могу сказать про Фрикад: ето просто афигеть. Я, конечно, фиг его знает как сложно делать более сложные конструкции, но вот такую коробочку сделать - наверное даже проще, чем в том же самом вебном tinkercad, где модели делаются из примтивов. Тут потратил вечер, разобрался в том как скетчить, выдавливать, делать скругления и фаски - готово. Базовые размеры фигуры задал переменными: шинрина/высота/длинна доминошки и толщина стенок коробки. Дальше - все размеры относительны: `vars.walls / 2` для верхней части коробки, `vars.domino_width*7+2mm`для длинны внутренней части коробочки. Я в восторге.</p><p>Крышка коробки делается относительно самой коробки: создаешь для крышки референс из верхней части коробки, лепишь размеры крышки относительно референса. Просто бимба. Я думаю, что у нормального человека такая коробочка дизайнится в ФриКАДе минут за 5 от силы.</p>

Koz Ross<p>Today's fun discovery: apparently, if you install the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/FreeCAD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreeCAD</span></a> Flatpak and try to use the OpenSCAD workbench, you _cannot_ give it a Flatpak-installed OpenSCAD. Literally impossible, even if you nuclear Flatseal permit it everything, because by default, it can neither see the export directory of Flatpak nor the Flatpak binary itself, which it needs to run said export.</p><p>How the idea that someone might want a working OpenSCAD workbench in a Flatpak FreeCAD didn't occur to the packager, I dunno.</p>
