The overall scenario in China may not be that bad. The article that you shared says that:

The top end of tech in China is still investing — in 2025, phone operators plan to spend $12 billion on AI. ByteDance are spending $20 billion. Alibaba is spending $53 billion. [Light Reading; Reuters]
Chinese companies still want data centres — even buying capacity in Malaysia to serve the broader Asian market. They’re just not so interested in the cheap local ones.

This is the old ex E-Shelter dacatenter behind the Spandau tax office in Berlin. I complained about the waste of energy in my very first talk about energy consumption of #datacenter

Finally they made it real. The problem was the heat network to the buildings. Normally they require 85-125 C and they obviously designed a new system working with 65 C

Until now, I used refurbished Arista switches (which work perfectly), but this is to distribute the network to about twenty higher education institutions; I can't afford the worn-out stuff. What brand would you use? Are there any European manufacturers?
We'll need 100 Gb and plenty of 10/25 Gb ports. I plan on using generic optical transceivers, though. #networking #switch #datacenter
